INKSPELL
Dustfinger finally manages to return to the Inkworld and reunites with his family- Roxane and Brianna. He also reunites with his other nonhuman family- fire. Fire dances for him again and only do so in the INkworld. However, his young apprentice Farid is left behind in our world. He can't stand it without Dustfinger, so he persuades Meggie to read him into the Inkworld. She succeeds but she also brings along the cause of Dustfinger's death in the story- Gwin. Finally, Meggie fulfils her wish to see all the fairies and nymphs and the Laughing Prince in the Inkworld. She knows that her father is missing her at home and she plans to leave as soon as possible. On the other hand, she doesn't know that vicious Basta and the Magpie (Mortola) finds her parents and they are too, brought to the Inkworld. Mortola shoots Mo and he is in terrible danger because of Mortola's loathing for him. Meanwhile, Fenoglio, the "author" of the story (currently in the INkworld) develops poems and stories of the legendary robber, the Bluejay. When the fire raisers see Mo wounded, he think that he is the Bluejay. His scar on his left arm, his height and his dark brown hair all fit the description. Meggie finds out from Fenoglio that the Bluejay isn't real but it is based on a real man- Mo. The Adderhead's men set out to find Mo. Since he is in terrible danger, Meggie reads Fenoglio's words and try to change the story. However, the story no longer belongs to Fenoglio, it has created it's own story. It plays with death. The conclusion to everything. Meggie and Fenoglio try to help Meggie's parents as well as Meggie is falling in love with Faird. When the Adderhead sets Mo free, the Black Prince's men (including Farid and Dustfinger) check to see if this is a game or not. There is a war and the good side wins. Unfortunately, Farid is found dead. Of course, Meggie is heartbroken. Dustfinger remembers a stroy about a fire-eater bring back his son to life. He sees if the story is true. Dustfinger gives his own life to the White women in exchange for Farid's life. Farid comes back to life and Dustfinger is gone... like forever. But is it forever? Farid's prayers will be answered later. Inkspell is the captivating 2nd book of the trilogy. Fenoglio realises that the Inkworld isn't under control anymore- no-one can change it's future. Death seems to be playing with the character's lives. It isn't made out of Fenoglio's words anymore. The book is still kind of confusing because there is a lot going on, but all the same, it is an imaginative and a thrilling book.
