Joey Pigza, the main character of the book, cannot sit still for one minute and is a annoying, hyper and crazy little kid. He sharpened his finger in the pencil sharpener, swallowed a key, and ran with scissors. The first few times when he swallowed the key, there was a string attached to the end of it so he can pull it out. Mrs Maxy, his teacher, was fed up of him playing with his key all the time. So she took it out, up his throat and cut the string at the end, and slip the key into his pocket. Joey then swallowed the key again, but he forgot that the teacher cut the string at the end of the key, so he could not pull it back up. Mrs Maxy then brought him to the nurse and the nurse gave him some medicine for him to throw up the key. Joey Pigza had to go to a Special Education Centre where there are people to help him be a better person.
